While hard rock influences were still present, such as on “Immigrant Song”, acoustic-based songs such as “Gallows Pole” and “That’s the Way” showed Led Zeppelin were capable of playing different styles successfully. #gettheledout

BROWN WEDNESDAY… Plasmatics - New Hope for the Wretched is the debut studio album by American punk rock band Plasmatics. It was released on October 2, 1980, by Stiff Records.

Jimmy Miller, former producer of the Rolling Stones and Motörhead was the initial producer for the album. Monday GET THE LED OUT “In My Time of Dying” is a cover of a gospel blues song by Blind Willie Johnson that was originally recorded in 1927. The song’s title line, which closes each stanza, refers to a deathbed and is inspired by a Bible verse from Psalms 41:3.

The song was credited to “Plant/Page/JP Jones/Bonham” on the record label, but it was actually an old gospel blues song. Many artists have recorded variations of the song, including Bob Dylan. #gettheledout

Monday GET THE LED OUT “Communication Breakdown”  The song’s original title was “Too Good”, and it had been performed during the band’s 1968 Scandinavian Tour.  It developed from a guitar riff played by Jimmy Page, while the rest of the band wrote the song around it. Bassist John Paul Jones later said “This is Page’s riff – you can tell instantly”.  Singer Robert Plant could not receive a songwriting credit owing to a previous record contract, and consequently it was credited simply to the other three band members. #gettheledout

The base recipe is lighter than we typically make, using only base malt, allowing the hops to shine through and keep the malt character to a minimum.
